For the last 4 months, our team has been heads-down building an entirely new content creation experience. We’re calling it Visage 3.0. We’ve had a pretty good time making it, but this is the really fun part for us.
Why did we create a whole new experience? In talking to thousands of people using the platform over the last year, one theme emerges above all else in your feedback. Flexibility.
We’re hearing from lots of people who love the speed and simplicity of creating content in Visage, but want to do more. More to express your brand. More to tell your story.
We originally built Visage with specific design parameters to make the process simpler and smarter. But sometimes those constraints were getting in the way of you creating content that delivers your message effectively. And that’s really important. So, we had two options: make incremental improvements to the current experience to add flexibility slowly but surely, or take what we’ve learned and create a new paradigm that solves many of the challenges at once. We chose door #2, and I’m happy we did.
So what does this new paradigm look like? You definitely need to use it to understand fully, but I’ll hit you with a few of the highlights here.
Fully Free-form Editing
You can move content (text, images, charts, etc.) anywhere you like on the canvas. Each of those objects can be edited individually with its own unique toolbar. Even the canvas itself can be resized to whatever dimensions you need for social, your blog or newsletter. And this is just the foundation.
Integrations with Very Cool Partners
We’ve integrated The Noun Project, giving you access to over 150,000 icons from top designers around the world. We’ve also integrated Unsplash stock photos, providing thousands of beautiful images to use in your graphics – all royalty free. Our designers have loved using each of these products independently, so naturally, we’re stoked to give you access to them directly within the app. Their libraries are curated beautifully, and growing constantly. Radical.
We know that creating good marketing content often takes a village. You can now share graphics with your team, so they can review or edit further. You can also set any graphic as a template for your team to use as a starting point for future content.
All New Templates
We’ve designed a whole new set of templates for Visage 3.0. Much like Trump’s hair, they’re beautiful, flexible, and optimized for social media.
New Brand Style Settings
We’ve also revamped your brand style editor to take advantage of all the options in Visage 3.0. You can now add brand color sets with up to 15 colors and entire font families with up to 18 styles and weights. We’re incredibly excited to get this in your hands. We’re planning on sharing the news with the rest of the world in a few weeks, but would love to have your feedback and ideas in the meantime. As always, I am available to chat here:
Thank you so much for your ongoing support of what we’re building. We feel incredibly grateful to be able to spend our days creating tools that make expressing your work easier and more fun.
